(b 909)  Open events are open to fencers in the Youth 14, Senior, and Veteran age groups.

(b 910)  Age groups are determined by the age of the fencer on the date of the competition.

Note:  The purpose of age groups in competitions is to ensure reasonable equivalence of strength and athletic ability among the participants, creating a more level competitive experience. Fence Dry! age groups do not conform to those of the United States Fencing Association, and fencers and organizers of Fence Dry! registered competitions should ensure that notices of competitions clearly identify the age group structure for the event.
