Fence Dry! Rules - Fencer Affiliation

FENCER AFFILIATION

(b 900)  For the purposes of seeding in tournaments, listing of results, and awards, a fencer is assumed to be affiliated with the club which he or she declares on the individual associate member application form filed at the start of the fencing year or at the first tournament in which a fencer participates.

(b 901)  A fencer may not change affiliation during the fencing year, unless the fencer physically moves his or her residence to another state or country.  Such a change of affiliation must be requested in writing from Fence Dry!

(b 902)  A fencer may choose to declare himself or herself unattached at the start of the fencing year, or if affiliated with a club, may choose to change that affiliation to unattached by so stating in writing to Fence Dry!  The fencer may not thereafter be affiliated with any club for competition during the remainder of the fencing year.

Note:  The Fence Dry! affiliation requirements parallel those of the United States Fencing Association to ensure that fencers do not accidentally endanger their competitive status as United States Fencing Association members.  Members who fencer both dry and electrical amateur competition should ensure that their Fence Dry! affiliation is identical to their United States Fencing Association affiliation.
