Fence Dry! Rules - Piste
FENCING PISTES
(t 100) Dry fencing competitions registered with Fence Dry! can be conducted on strips of any one of three patterns. This provides even the fencing club with very limited space a piste design that can be used for competition.
(t 101) Federation Internationale d'Escrime Standard Piste - Total length of the fencing ground is 14 meters. On guard lines are 2 meters from the center line; warning lines are 2 meters from the end of the piste. Minimum width is 1.8 meters; maximum width is 2 meters.
(t 102) Twelve Meter Piste -Total length of the fencing ground is 12 meters. On guard lines are 2 meters from the center line; warning lines are 2 meters from the end of the piste. Minimum width is 1.8 meters; maximum width is 2 meters.
(t 103) 32 Foot Piste - Total length of the fencing ground is 32 feet. On guard lines are 6 feet from the center line; warning lines are 6 feet from the end of the piste. Minimum width is 3 feet; maximum width is 6 feet.
(t 104) The on guard lines and warning lines are marked with lines completely across the piste parallel to the ends of the piste and perpendicular to the sides of the piste.
(t 105) Pistes should be laid out so the ends of the pistes allow for maximum clearance from obstacles or spectators as an overun area for fencers. At a minimum the overruns should provide for at least 2 meters of clear space.
(t 106) Pistes should provide sufficient clearance from adjacent pistes to allow the members of the jury to stand a minimum of 3 feet from the side of the piste, and the director a minimum of 9 feet from the side of the piste. Scorer's tables should be positioned no closer than 4 feet 6 inches from the side of the piste.
